The CREDI center has joined the Fairwork project, within and we will work on the evaluation and ranking of the working conditions of workers on the platforms. The Fairwork project is led by the Oxford Internet Institute, the University of Oxford and the Center for Social Sciences in Berlin. This project developed a methodological approach used by researchers around the world to assess working conditions on digital platforms in accordance with the five principles of Fairwork (fair pay, fair conditions, fair contracts, fair management, and fair representation). Digital platforms mean platforms that mediate and facilitate the exchange of jobs between companies, workers, and clients (e.g., Glovo or Uber).
In cooperation with Fairwork, CREDI will lead this process in Bosnia and Herzegovina and, through evaluation and ranking of the most represented platforms based on Fairwork’s principles, will investigate the working conditions on digital platforms. Our center has become part of a network that consists of more than 25 countries in the world, and our researchers, through numerous activities and cooperation with workers, managers, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations, will work to point out the difficulties faced by workers on platforms and how to ensure fair conditions for these workers.
The team members who will be engaged in this project are the Principal Investigator Nermin Oruč and the researchers Amela Kurta and Ilma Kurtović.
