CREDI was commissioned by the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) to conduct external evaluation of its PREPS project.
Since the early 1990s, CRS has conducted operations in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia, and it played a vital role in both nations’ response to and recovery from the 2014 floods. Six municipalities in BiH and eight municipalities in Serbia strengthened their capacity for disaster preparedness and mitigation as part of a two-year PREPS initiative funded by USAID. Strengthening vulnerable communities’ ability to withstand natural disasters such floods, droughts, wildfires, landslides, earthquakes, snowstorms, and hail was the overarching project goal.
By using the evaluation criteria of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability, CREDI will evaluate the overall project strategy of CRS and its partners in disaster risk reduction. To ensure triangulation, a mixed-methods technique that combines secondary and primary sources as well as qualitative and quantitative methodologies will be used. Additionally, a summary of the Covid-19 impact will be included, taking into account the measures put in place during the project’s implementation.
The project will be implemented in the period November-December 2022.
