On October 23, 2024, CREDI successfully hosted an online workshop focused on skills foresight in the agri-food sector as part of the SMARTLABOR project. This exclusive event brought together experts to discuss the future skill needs of the agri-food workforce, particularly in the context of the Western Balkans region.
The agri-food sector is experiencing significant transformations driven by technological advancements, climate change, and shifting consumer demands. In response to these challenges, the workshop aimed to address the skills gaps within the sector and explore strategies for future workforce development.
The agenda included comprehensive sessions on:
- Introduction to Skills Foresight in the Agri-Food Sector
- Methodology for Skills Foresight and Major Trends
- Data Collection and Analysis Techniques
- Scenario Building and Creating Action Plans for Future Skills
The workshop concluded with actionable recommendations for aligning educational programs and labor market policies to better meet the future challenges of the agri-food workforce.
Looking ahead, the next activities of the #SMARTLABOR project will focus on skills in the agri-food sector, including the development of national reports. Additionally, a new platform will soon be launched, providing valuable resources for various stakeholders. Partners in the project, including @Centar, @Impetus, and @CREDI, encourage all interested parties to stay connected and follow upcoming updates.
This event was part of the broader “SMART LABOR” project, supported by the “SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans” project and funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
