On December 9-10, 2024, the Conference on Data Sharing and Secondary Analysis in Child and Youth Wellbeing Research was held in Zagreb, organized as part of the COORDINATE project and hosted by the CROSSDA – Croatian Social Science Data Archive, University of Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Amela Kurta, representing the Data Archive for Social Science in Bosnia and Herzegovina (DASS-BiH), participated in the event, delivering a presentation that highlighted the significant strides made in the development of research infrastructure for social sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her presentation focused on the establishment of DASS-BiH, which is hosted by the Centre for Development Evaluation and Social Science Research (CREDI). Amela elaborated on the strategic planning, partnerships, and technical advancements involved in creating a sustainable data repository designed to improve the preservation, accessibility, and reuse of research data. The session also covered the milestones reached in the development process, challenges encountered along the way, and the solutions implemented to overcome them. Special attention was given to the role of CREDI in fostering a supportive ecosystem for data-driven research and its long-term impact on research capacity, collaboration, and data transparency in the region.
The conference provided an excellent platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and exploring new ways to leverage data sharing in the field of child and youth wellbeing research.
