CREDI has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and become a member of the Climate Bridges Network, marking an important step in strengthening regional cooperation on climate action in Southeastern Europe.
The Climate Bridges Network is an expanding alliance that brings together civil society organizations, research institutions, public authorities, and social enterprises committed to advancing climate action, with a primary focus on the Western Balkans. Currently comprising 82 member organizations from 10 countries, the Network provides a collaborative platform for knowledge sharing, joint initiatives, and coordinated efforts aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive climate solutions across the region.
In a context marked by environmental degradation, fragmented policies, and limited cross-border coordination, the Climate Bridges Network plays a crucial role in bridging gaps between local actions and regional strategies. By fostering transnational cooperation, the Network addresses interconnected challenges such as decarbonization, pollution reduction, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development. Its work directly supports the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and other international climate frameworks, while empowering local actors to engage in collective, evidence-based action.
As a research-oriented organization with strong expertise in social science, policy analysis, and evaluation, CREDI’s membership strengthens the Network’s analytical and evidence base. Through this partnership, CREDI aims to contribute to joint advocacy efforts, capacity-building activities, and policy-relevant research that reflects the diverse needs and priorities of the region. CREDI looks forward to active cooperation within the Climate Bridges Network, contributing its experience and engaging with partners across the region to help shape equitable, sustainable, and locally driven responses to climate change in the Western Balkans and beyond.
