The PATHFINDER project „Unlocking the Potential of Youth on AI Learning for Active Transition to Employment through Democratic Participation“ (Project ID: 101253819), which CREDI implements as a partner, has officially begun with a kick-off meeting held on 16–17 April 2026 in Trnava, Slovakia. This meeting marked the first official activity within the project.
The kick-off gathered all consortium partners, including the project coordinator the European Dialogue, alongside the South-East European Research Centre (SEERC), Young Researchers of Serbia, the Policy and Citizens’ Observatory, Light Trees and CREDI. Over the course of two days, partners aligned on project objectives, governance structure, and key implementation steps for the upcoming period.
Funded under the EU’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, the PATHFINDER project will run from April 2026 to March 2028. The project focuses on one of the most pressing issues facing Europe today – youth unemployment in the context of rapid technological change driven by artificial intelligence (AI). PATHFINDER will foster critical dialogue on the dual role of AI as both a challenge and an opportunity, while creating spaces for young people to actively engage in shaping the future of work.
Through a series of debates, workshops, and transnational exchanges, the project will explore how AI is transforming labour markets and what this means for young people transitioning into employment. A strong emphasis will be placed on democratic participation, ensuring that youth voices contribute to EU policy discussions on employment, education, and digital transformation.
By bringing together young people, educators, policymakers, and representatives of the tech sector, the project will support the co-creation of policy recommendations aimed at improving education and vocational training systems in line with emerging AI-driven labour market needs.
Through its participation in PATHFINDER, CREDI continues to strengthen its role as a regional hub for research and policy innovation, contributing to evidence-based policymaking and inclusive socio-economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
