CDESS invites applications for its Visiting Research Fellow (VRF) Programme. The Centre’s Visiting Research Fellowship programme enables mid-career researchers, activists, practitioners and scholars to spend a period of time conducting research at CDESS. The Centre aims to put in place a funded programme to enable those with a genuine and active commitment to social science research from around the world to spend time at CDESS and actively engage with the Centre’s initiatives, irrespective of their financial means. Currently, however, we can only consider applications from those who already have (or expect to have) adequate financial support.
Fellowship can be arranged throughout the year; the length of an internship may vary from a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 3 months. Fellows will be offered office space, CDESS login and email address, and access to CDESS facilities. If neccessary, fellows can also be provided free accommodation. In case this is requested, it should be clearly specified in the application.
Visiting Research Fellows (VRF) are expected to work on a research project that fits the research themes of CDESS. Visiting Fellows are also expected to play an active part in the intellectual life of the Centre. Prospective applicants should present a clear and realizable plan in relation to the objectives to be met during their fellowship.
Applications will first be considered by a committee within the Centre.
