The Data Archive for Social Sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina (DASS-BiH) is announcing the publication of a new FAIR Implementation Story authored by Amela Kurta and Nermin Oruč, members of the DASS-BiH team and researchers at CREDI.
The publication, titled “Testing recommendations for trustworthy and FAIR-enabling data repositories at the Data Archive for Social Sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina (DASS-BiH)”, has been released as part of the FAIR-IMPACT initiative.
FAIR-enabling and trustworthy data repositories play a central role in making and keeping data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) over time. While there is ongoing debate on what constitutes “trustworthiness,” there is broad agreement that transparency and evidence are essential for enabling end users to make informed decisions about repository services. FAIR-IMPACT has developed guidelines to improve transparency and trust in repositories, and in this support action, DASS-BiH had the opportunity to test and critically evaluate these guidelines.
By applying FAIR-IMPACT recommendations, DASS-BiH has taken significant steps towards strengthening its position as a trustworthy and FAIR-enabling repository, while also directly contributing to shaping the next iterations of these important guidelines.
